Revised mission statement

Thank you D.J. for helping with the revision of this statement.

Our Mission
Leap of Faith Horse Ministry exist to engage people , including thoses with disabilities, with the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the unique and enjoyable activities related to horses and horseback riding.

Our Five Core Values
We value...

Human souls
1 Every person's soul has value given by God. Therefore every soul counts and should be treated with dignity, respect, and great care. The most loving thing that can ever be done for a human's soul is for it to be redeemed through a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Opportunities to encourage
2 In a world full of discouragement, it is our priority to lift people up, bring a smile to their face, and make their day a little brighter.

Refocusing people on their abilities verses their disabilities
3 Disabilities do exist. However, within every person is a tremendous amount of potential and giftedness given by God. Our desire is for people to become more familiar with what they can do given the right attitude, support, and environment.

Sharing our love of horses
4 We love horses and believe our passion for these beautiful animals God has created is contagious and beneficial to human beings.

Enjoyment of and care for horses
5 We believe we can show and share Christ's love through allowing people the unique opportunity of being around, caring for, learning about, and enjoying horses.

Updated barn pics

I am still learning how the blog page works. I uploaded a few more pictures of the barn.

Tackroom, stall, back front, side, Picture order

We will be getting the $$ from the loan on Monday!!:)

I talked to Sandra Casey today about helping with the logo for us. Wendy has also been helping with the flyer & logo & business cards!!

I have talked to the accountant & started to file the "tax forms" WOW!! There is a lot of paper work, so please pray about that!! This is the process that can take up to a year.
God is good!! It is all coming together.
In the mean time we still offer lessons to anyone who wants to ride or be around horses!

Painted horse

The guys have worked hard on the barn. It is looking great!!

Today was a wet day. We decided to paint Ruby instead of ride. The girls( Kris & her friend Shanna) & Drew had a great time. They said that Ruby was a canvus that needed painting. She was a dirty white, now she has lots of added color!! What a pony!!

Jesus does the same thing to us, we are dirty, he grooms us and then he paints us the colors he wants us to be.

WOW!!

Last week our director of missions called me and asked me to help the association with bible school. I said ok. I didn't know what to expect or what my duties were. Today I went to a state bible school training meeting at First Baptist Church of Monroeville. I still didn't know why I was there, but God knew what he had in mind. Out of ~ 100 people I sat right beside a lady from Bay Minette, AL that uses horses for therapy. (Buckaroo Barn, Kristye Chastang,P.T.) I satrted talking... she started talking...She gave me her business card and said to give her a call. God places people directly in our paths!! WOW!!

Answered prayer

I have wanted to start a horse minisrty for several years. I have done nothing but talk about it. On Jan 23, 09. I prayed for God to open the door with the horse ministry if that is what he wanted me to do. Ask and you shall receive, the next day Kris & I went to the Al Horse Fair along with Jessica and Haley(Kris's friend). It was cold and raining. We went in and walked around to look at all the booths set up, well right there in front of me was a table from Spirit of Hope Youth Ranch of Wilsonville. (www.sohyr.org) I walked over to the lady at the table and told her that this was exactly what I wanted to do, Use horses to help people. Her name was Joy Oneal. She was very helpful. She gave me web sites and contact information to get started. And so I did!! God answers prayers!! Then I made arrangements to go and visit her Ranch. Nice place!! She explained some things to me and recommended books and clinics I could attend!
When I left there I called Wendy(Duke's sister) and we had lunch. Then she told me about a barn there in Talladega that also used horses to help children. (Marianna Greene Henery Special Equestrians) I met Tim Greene, the founder, he was awsome in giving me information. They are the largest facility in the US that helps the blind ,deaf, and handicapped. (www.mgharena.com) Wow!! God gave me two huge inspirational contacts in one day!!! What an Awsome God we serve!!
I have contacted John Marks, our Associational Director of Mission, he is praying!!
Brother Steve Dunn, Said he would be willing to hop on the board!!

God is just laying everything out!! According to his plans!!

If you know anyone who may want to help with this organization Please have them contact me!!

Also I am going to attend a workshop on March 13. (www.OKcorralseries.com) . Please pray that God will provide the funds I need to get certified. This is a continuing education process.
Warmly,
Heather
